Then I saw a rusting color of hope
and rotting color of brotherly love
a bouquet of harrowing hues of the childhood fears
and hidden gemstones of unstoppable lust
hazy hues of desperate days
anxious shades of the vapid nights
then the thick red of an imminent present
and matching color of an imminent past
marching colors of collective idiocy
and some violent hues of a folly
then I saw the Voice of Thin Silence.
Once I met a blind man
he lived his life in colors.
I poured it
into the plastic cup.
it was saturnine red.
took a sip.
then I took another.
it had a sour
I drank a gulp.
the following dreams
like a boiling mirage.
then she didn’t come.
she came with the light PM rain,
we haven’t spoken since the high school.
she moved to London.
I stayed around.
“how do you feel”, I asked.
(I know she was coping with the health problems).
“I look good, that’s the main thing, right?”, she answered.
“we are getting older, you know, but you are getting younger.
that’s encouraging”, I replied.
I felt like a jellyfish on my new blood pressure medication.
she said, “nowadays easier being bipolar, than with the high blood pressure”.
“how are the kids, wife, Ok?”
I nodded, yes.
I put the paper boat,
that I just made out of the menu,
in runlet on the street.
“I got to go, see you around”, she said.
she got into the yellow cab,
and left into the light PM rain.
the paper boat fell
the dormant river was slowly drifting into the dawn.
fragments of ice were floating on the surface
but the waters couldn’t melt them.
see, you said, – same elements, but they can’t merge
the mind can’t erase certain moments,
that were frozen in memory.
same elements, – was echoing in my head.
until the darkling cloudy sky finally subdued to turbid water.
The frozen shadows
were slowly melting
like an oozing black wax.
so were the tentacles
of the dead octopus.
till the shadow completely melted
into the darkness.
and the darkness was only pretending
to be the night.
I am lying on the bed
wearing the boots and coat
on my leaden limbs
thinking about that night
when we stood on the hill
under the hole in the sky
watching Pleiades shine.
