the sea and the seagull

she was the sea
bottomless for his comprehension
unpredictable like any woman
caring
embracing with her permanence
too ambient for his ambitions

he was the seagull
a hungry seagull
swooping down from the altitude of his pride
penetrating her with his beak
brute
he found food in her

she was his sea
he was her seagull
