the summer solstice

she always came in the night with the hot southern wind
dressed in a moonlight, two Pulsars are her eyes
she usually sat on my windowsill dangling her feet
and conducting the woozily chirping crickets

she drank all my port and ate chocolate
teasing me with her bittersweet kisses
intoxicating me with her cosmic dew
at the spring of a day she was leaving

and she knew how to fly
but I didn’t
