this soggy morning

this soggy morning,
squeamishly not embracing.
this rugged floor,
is unwelcoming.
my pale nakedness,
– a puddle.
an-elevator-doors my face,
half-closed vision.
am I am, – me?
– no more!
the other night,
the other trip;
I was Adam,
I was Eve,
I was the apple,
& the snake;
– I was the bite!

& if you want
to rebuke me, –
first give me clothes
to cover my abashment.
