Poor Jimmy

20140224-213921.jpg

Jimmy woke up at 5 o’clock
he didn’t know if it is morning or night
the street outside was quiet
the birds didn’t sing
and the postman didn’t ring

Jimmy was an ordinary man
loved to use “asm” words
words like a sarcasm or an orgasm
sympathetic to communism
but more of an anarchist
he used bohemian pose
to make an impression
on the college girls
but he never knew what to do next
his charm was ending there
poor Jimmy.

and the choir of angels sang
poor Jimmy he was able to stop the time
but at the wrong moment

Jimmy looked at the clock
– still 5
he turned on his TV
tried to watch the news
but the news where surreal
– Europe was breaking apart
into the smaller kingdoms
Middle East turned into the Global Far East
and was threatening to relocate westerns to the far South
he also didn’t like the anchorwoman
she wore the purple lipstick
had split serpent tongue
deep hissing voice
and looked frigid
Oh, poor Jimmy

and the choir of angels sang
poor Jimmy he was able to stop the time
but at the wrong moment

singing Nick Cave’s “Avalanche”
Jim left his apartment
I believe it was around 5
then he called a cab
the cabbie cursed him.
and sped up
and disappeared around the corner.
Jimmy spat on the warm asphalt
kicked some soda can
and went to the bus stop

blue bus with number “five” has stopped
it took Jimmy to the mountains

next day on the news
was the report about the avalanche

and the choir of angels sang
poor Jimmy he was able to stop the time,
but at the wrong moment
Oh, Poor Jimmy

  1. very interesting, psychadelic almost. surrealism, ironies, symbolism, you use these devices a lot in your work, i like it. I didn’t catch the significance of the number 5 recurring though, in showed in word format as well as numerical.

    1. Thank you. I am, I’d like reader to see the world, the way I see it. Five, in the summer, is not the evening yet, but not the afternoon as well. Quite undefined time of the day, I did it on purpose

      1. it was brilliant. thank you for explaining that to me, i wish i had made that mental connection with the number 5!! very good concept.
